Young Frankenstein

It Begins! Let's dive into Young Frankenstein, one minute at a time.

We want to thank all of our guests who have participated (or will participate) in our podcast where we celebrate and breakdown the films of Gene Wilder, one minute at a time. If you are looking for a particular person who appeared in any of our episodes, just scroll through and see. We have identified the minutes where they appeared and have provided a short bio so you can learn a little more about them.

Season One – Young Frankenstein – March 26, 2018

Episode(s) Name Bio
0 Alan Sanders and Walt Murray Our first-ever podcast episode gives you a chance to learn a little bit about our hosts and why they chose the works of Gene Wilder to be the subject of their show in the movies-by-minutes format. Then they dive into why they chose Young Frankenstein to be the subject of their inaugural season.
1, 2, 3, 4, 5 Alan Sanders and Walt Murray Since the first 4 1/2 minutes are opening credits, our hosts decided to save guests from having nothing to discuss but names of the cast and crew. However, this is a great chance to learn a little more about all of the creative folks who were behind the creation of one of the most beloved comedies of all-time.
6, 7, 10 Matt Gray Matt is a pre-millennial, private detective and background check specialist at Lighthouse Information Services in Alpharetta, GA. What we gleaned from his minutes is the humor of Young Frankenstein seems to transcend many different generations, to include those born in the 90s.
8, 9 Dr. Tim Ryan Dr. Ryan is a family practitioner who currently runs The Physician’s Practice in NW Georgia and loves what he does. Dr. Ryan attended medical school 30 years ago and only just watched Young Frankenstein as part of this project. Tim was raised by great parents in the wonderful small town of Corning, NY.

Growing up, he always thought being a doctor would be the most rewarding career. In 1995, after finishing his Family Practice Residency, he moved to Cartersville because the Olympics were coming to Atlanta and because he liked the community.

11, 12, 13, 14, 15 Susan Delmonico Susan is a personal trainer by day via her own company, SJD Health and Fitness, and a movie aficionado by evening. She has proclaimed a love of Young Frankenstein since the first time she saw it as a child.
16, 17, 18, 19, 20 Jonathan Howell
Jonathan likes to talk about movies, maybe a little too much. He can’t remember how much his mortgage is but he knows what commodity was the plot of Trading Places — Frozen Concentrated Orange Juice! He fell in love with the Movies By Minutes format and decided to join in. Along with his college friend, Chris, they investigate the movie Mission: Impossible (1996) one minute at a time.
This podcast gives Chris and Jonathan an excuse to dig deep into one of the lasting action franchises of the past 20 years. Fantastic guests join them every week as they investigate their favorite spy movie, one minute at a time. (Warning: This podcast is also an excuse for them to do bad impressions.) You can find Jonathan as one of the hosts of Minute: Impossible and he has also been a guest on Galaxy Quest Minute, Cabin in the Woods and upcoming on Titanic Minute, Mad Max, Flash Gordon, Spider-Man 2 Dark Knight and Watchmen Minute.
21, 22, 23, 24, 25 Adam Boyer

Born in Boston, Massachusetts Adam Boyer had skates strapped to his feet as soon as he could walk. Playing hockey was his first love. When his family moved down to Atlanta, a devastating thing happened…Winter disappeared, and with it, hockey. The closest thing the South had to offer was soccer. Throwing himself into the sport wholeheartedly, he played in High School, College and Professionally in two different countries. Upon realizing he was NOT going to be the next Lionel Messi he turned to another love.

He started acting at Georgia State University in the late 80’s. In the mid 90’s he came to Warehouse Actor’s Theatre in Atlanta. He became the first student in the school’s history to earn his thesis there. In 1997 he landed his first lead in a feature film playing Burton Bomhoff in The Real Reason. Since then he has been in such films as Solace, ATL, Halloween 2, The Change Up, Looper and Sully. He has also appeared in the television series The Game, One Tree Hill, Necessary Roughness, Homeland, Revolution, Resurrection, Nashville, Sleepy Hollow, Powers, Ozark and of course…The Walking Dead! But he is probably most intimately known for his portrayal of Sergeant First Class Leon Wisniewski or “Ski” on the Lifetime hit series Army Wives.

Raising Arizona, Airplane!, and Young Frankenstein, along with George Carlin, Lewis Black, and Mitch Hedberg, are his favorite funny films and stand-ups.

Eric enjoys reading, but did a lot more when he was younger, from somewhat normal novels like Vonnegut to Star Wars to nonfiction, especially biographies, music, and science, to comics. Any types of games with others, or on his own, really rocks his socks. Eric has been listening to podcasts for just about 10 years now and since finding out about Movies by Minutes when Pete and Alex were finishing the first Star Wars movie (Episode 4, A New Hope), he’s gradually gotten to the point where more than half the podcasts he listens to are of that type.

He’s known Tom Taylor since birth, and Pete Mummert since their days at Marshall College, and believes that in a fight between Han Solo and Indiana Jones, we all win (until we all lose). When Gerry’s not shooting craps with the “bad egg” Hovitos, he’s installing Xboxes in every hut and slipping “Fortified Sunny D Jungle Punch with Pampas Berries” into every thatched lunch box. His official title is the Perpetual Intern, or P.I., on the Indiana Jones Minute, though no one has told him it does not mean the same as when Magnum, P.I. uses it. In the immortal words of Inigo Montoya, “I do not think it means what you think it does.”
